Jeremy Hartje

Jeremy is the Founding Director of the Riekes Nature Department. For seven years, from the department’s inception in 2000, Jeremy used his entrepreneurial skills to create and grow this department. He also taught 5-18 year olds in the field, in addition to overseeing management and administrative responsibilities. He then went on to become a project manager and lead estimator for his family's construction company, where he oversaw complex building proposals and projects. Jeremy returned to the Riekes Center under an operational capacity to help create solutions so the dynamic environment at the Riekes Center could thrive. Currently, Jeremy serves as the Associate Executive Director, working closely with the Founder to find creative ways to ensure the Riekes Center will be a community asset for generations to come. Jeremy spends most of his free time with his daughters and wife, exploring the outdoors, mountain biking, playing in the ocean, working in their garden, and chasing their dog and chickens.
