Sports Performance and Fitness Coach - Part time/Full time

  • Sports Performance & Fitness Coach - Part time/Full time

    The Riekes Center is seeking positions for part time sports performance coaches to help coach students of various ages and interests in our Athletic Fitness department. The job role will vary, but the ideal candidate will perform physical evaluations/assessments, lead students through customized training sessions, assist in teaching sports performance and speed classes, lead our adult fitness class, assist with our onsite school fitness classes, and assist in other departments if there is a need. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to 3-5 days of instruction per week, with opportunities for more days/hours as desired and available.

    Qualifications

    First and foremost, every candidate must be open to the idea of doing anything in the spirit of helping others. Candidates must also be open to learning and teaching. Additional preferred qualifications include experience working with youth, working and training athletic populations as well as those with general fitness goals. Experience in youth mentoring and working with a varied population of physical abilities is ideal but not required. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and hard working.

    Applicants must have good communication skills and professionalism with parents and youth. Strong group management skills and 1st Aid/CPR certification are a plus. Please apply if you are seriously interested, even if you do not have all these skills. We are willing to help you learn and grow.

    Responsibilities

    Assist in program implementation for individual students

    Assist and lead training evaluations for students

    Assist in teaching our Rise Up, Cornerstone, and R-Fit classes

    Assist in teaching our school fitness programs for students

    Help maintain organization and cleanliness of our facility

    Pay and Benefits

    $22/hour. Travel stipends, gym memberships, arts and music lessons, and training allowances are all possible depending on commitment, fit, and position.
