Riekes Film is excited to host its 2nd annual Spotlight Short Film Showcase. This showcase will feature a selection of short films from local filmmakers, offering a diverse and exciting lineup of work. Whether you are a seasoned film buff or new to independent cinema, we invite you to join us for this special event.
Before the Showcase, which begins at 4:00 PM, we will be premiering of our 2023 Summer Documentary Program students' short films! We invite anyone coming to the Film Festival to join us in supporting these young filmmakers. Our Summer Documentary Program is funded in part by the California Arts Council.
This year, we invite you to stop by the Riekes Center on Tuesday, November 14th for our exciting Giving Tuesday campaign kickoff event! Starting at 10AM we will have coffee and bagels, along with fun photo ops and more!

Join Nicola Vann Studios in residency at the Riekes Center in Menlo Park, CA for a week-long intensive focusing on the foundations of acting technique & improv.
The Riekestra is gearing up for a 10-day tour in Barcelona, Spain later this summer and will showcase their talents and the music they have been crafting and preparing in a performance on Friday, July 7 at 6:00 PM at Palo Alto Magical Bridge Playground, located at 3700 Middlefield Road within Mitchell Park of Palo Alto. It is free to the public!

An INTRO Workshop is the best way to start learning and experiencing the nature of MovNat. It’s an easy-entry overview of the basics of moving naturally and what it means to be “naturally fit” in comparison to conventional fitness. You will see how Natural Movement is accessible and necessary for every human being.
Students will learn the art of chemistry photography without a physical camera. Onetime cameraless workshop through the use of darkroom chemicals, cyanotypes, and light-sensitive paper. $60 dollar drop in lesson

Attention all middle and high school athletes: Adding mindfulness to your fitness practice will increase resilience, improve overall focus, and elevate your game-time performance! Join mindfulness educators Andy Kitt and Mark Newton on Tuesday, April 18th from 6-7PM, at the Riekes Center, for a FREE Mindfulness for Athletes session.
On Friday, April 14th (National Gardening Day) the Riekes Center will be meeting up at the Friendship Garden in Redwood City from 1:00–3:00PM to do some spring cleaning of our community garden!
