Nature Awareness Instructor
Anole began her journey with us 6 years ago when she started assisting in the Nest to Fledge program at Tunitas Creek. This will be her 8th year with the Nest to Fledge program, and she will be co-instructing on Wednesday in Santa Cruz and on Thursday and Friday at Huddart Park. This will also be her 5th year with the Monday Kestrel program. Anole grew up in San Francisco, where she had many rich experiences that lead her to where she is today: 1 year in the Urban Pioneer program at McAteer High School where she took on many physical and personal challenges such as rock climbing, rappelling, and leading ropes courses for middle school age kids, deaf teenagers, and adults in team building courses. Two week survival back packing trips in Stanislaus and Los Padres, river rafting, and lots of personal growth. She was part of an amazing parent co-op nursery school, Rocky Mountain Nursery School. She spent many hours watching, learning, asking lots of questions and spending quality time with kids ages 2 1/2 to 6 yrs. This is the foundation for how she relates to and respects children of all ages. It was also a great opportunity to work with parents from all backgrounds and diversity in parenting. She studied Child Development for 2 1/2 years at City College. She is a homeschooling mom of 4 amazing kids who you will see in various forms of mentoring in many of the nature classes. Some other personal inspirations are fire making, learning songs of all kinds, getting to know the birds better, and so much more! She enjoys the littlest nature lovers and is continually energized by the pre teen Kestrels!
