I used to play basketball and football for my school, but after I tore my ACL I decided to give that up, even after physical therapy here at the Riekes Center. Since then I have taken up throwing the shotput and discus, and in my spare time I enjoy playing the baritone saxophone, watching sporting events, and kicking back a little before I make the long, long trek to college. I’m excited to get to know the staff and students here on a different plane than I did as a student here.
I’ve been playing music since the third grade. I started at Oak Knoll School playing the clarinet under the dedicated and boisterous leadership of Bob Crabb. In seventh grade I switched to the baritone saxophone, which is, for my money, the single coolest instrument on the market today. My sophomore year at MA, I moved to the Jazz Ensemble at MA, which, in the summer of 2007, recorded a CD professionally and went on a 16 day, 7 performance European tour. I’m still exhausted.
I’m very pleased to be working at the center now. See you around.
