The Nest to Fledge program begins the process of nature connection in the early stages of childhood development with the intent of creating strong connections to the Earth and nurturing awareness and sensory skills for young children. Parents have the opportunity to learn along side their children each week as we explore all the diverse landscapes of the Arboretum. Each week we will gather for large group activities, and as children “fledge” they will go off on short adventures with one of our instructors and return to the fire with stories for the parents. This program is part of a larger “village” community that includes intentional overlap with the NEWTS (ages 5.5-8), KESTRELS (ages 9-12) and Teen (13 -18) on the same day. The program also includes a weekend overnight family camping trip.
NOTE- THESE PROGRAMS ARE VERY POPULAR, AND MOST PROGRAMS HAVE WAIT LISTS.
We are currently in the process of preparing our 2018-19 registration, which will open on June 4th for programs with roster availability and on July 1st for programs that currently have a wait list. In the mean time, you can join the wait list and let us know you're interested.
Financial aid is available for all of our programs. We seek to provide educational opportunities regardless of income; please contact us for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition to direct scholarships, we offer work-trade opportunities through our Community Service program.
