Jaimie grew up in Sacramento, where she played soccer and basketball and competed in swimming. After graduating high school she attended San Francisco State University, where she majored in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management. During the summer of her junior year, she had the opportunity to intern with the United States Paralympic High Performance and Emerging Sport Program in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There she found her interest in adaptive sports. She was introduced to the Riekes Center through her U.S. Paralympic connections and did volunteer work with the Palo Alto V.A. For her final semester she became an intern for the Center where she gained experience. Jaimie is a USA Archery Level 2 Coach and a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coach.
