Tom Cronin
Tom moved to the Bay Area from Minnesota after an overseas detour though New Zealand and Australia. In fact the first house he lived in was just down the street on Eighth Ave. He now lives in Redwood City with his New Zealand wife and three daughters. Tom joined the Riekes Center in Oct 2007. Prior to that, he had been working in the education and environmental non-profit sector in various management positions. Tom also brings a business background to the Center from a 20 year operations career at Hewlett Packard.
Outside of the Riekes Center, Tom is involved in a number of community and civic organizations including the Redwood City Planning Commission and CityTrees, a grass roots urban forestry non-profit. In addition to his community work, Tom is an avid trail runner, Masters swimmer and he also ran the Boston Marathon in 2007. At home, Tom and his wife have a small urban garden and orchard that they try to harvest local seasonal produce off every month of the year. On the weekends, you can often find Tom hiking or participating in Orienteering events throughout the many open space preserves and parks of the Bay Area.
"The Riekes Center provides an opportunity for me to be part of a local community asset with a focus on youth and programs I am closely associated with in my life"
