This series of workshops teaches the basics of frame-by-frame shooting and stop motion with high quality digital video cameras.  Through fun hands on activities we will bring inanimate objects, our drawings, clay and so much more to life.

Claymation: September 25th, 2010
Work in small crews to design your own characters and set. Students take turns working the camera and animating.

Collage and Cut Out: October 9th, 2010
If you love to cut up magazines, newspapers, and anything else you can get your hands on…take it one step farther and turn that collage into a moving image extravaganza.

Stop Motion: October 23rd, 2010
Make yourself teleport to a different room, or have the chairs dance with each other. The skies the limit with Stop Motion! Students will work in small crews to create stop motion videos.

Direct Animation: November 6th, 2010
Direct Animation involves scratching, painting, taping and drawing directly onto 16mm film.  We will play it back through a projector to see our amazing results. Students get back to basics with this fun and engaging and often overlooked technique.
